چکیده

Background Myocardial extracellular volume is proportionate to partition coefficient (l). l can be measured by assessing the T1 relaxation time before and after injection of gadolinium. T1 and l might become clinically relevant parameters for prognostic assessment. The goal of that study is to assess the intersite reproducibility of T1 assessment and partition coefficient on phantom and on one volunteer at 1.5 and 3.0T using ShMOLLI sequences.

Accuracy and precision of myocardial T1mapping with MOLLI and ShMOLLI at 1.5T and 3.0T: a phantom study

Background Previous studies have demonstrated that an increase in extracellular volume measured on MRI is directly proportionate to myocardial fibrosis. Myocardial extracellular volume is proportionate to partition coefficient (l) and extracellular volume = l × (1-hematocrit). l can be measured by assessing the T1 relaxation time before and after injection of contrast medium. The goal of this s...

Modified look-locker inversion recovery T1 mapping indices: assessment of accuracy and reproducibility between magnetic resonance scanners

BACKGROUND Cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR) T1 mapping indices, such as T1 time and partition coefficient (λ), have shown potential to assess diffuse myocardial fibrosis. The purpose of this study was to investigate how scanner and field strength variation affect the accuracy and precision/reproducibility of T1 mapping indices. METHODS CMR studies were performed on two 1.5T and three 3...

Multi-center transferability of a breath-hold T2 technique for myocardial iron assessment

BACKGROUND Cardiac iron overload is the leading cause of death in thalassemia major and is usually assessed using myocardial T2* measurements. Recently a cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR) breath-hold T2 sequence has been developed as a possible alternative. This cardiac T2 technique has good interstudy reproducibility, but its transferability to different centres has not yet been investig...

IVIM diffusion-weighted imaging of the liver at 3.0 T: Comparison with 1.5 T

PURPOSE To compare intravoxel incoherent motion (IVIM) diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) of the liver between 1.5T and 3.0 T in terms of parameter quantification and inter-platform reproducibility. MATERIALS AND METHODS In this IRB approved prospective study, 19 subjects (17 patients with chronic liver disease and 2 healthy volunteers) underwent two repeat scans at 1.5T and 3.0T. Each scan inc...

Modified look-locker inversion recovery T1 mapping indices: assessment of accuracy and reproducibility between MRI scanners

Background Cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) T1 mapping indices, including T1 time, partition coefficient (l), and extracellular volume fraction (ECV) measurements, are a group of emerging noninvasive, quantitative imaging biomarkers that can be used to assess diffuse myocardial fibrosis. Similar to other quantitative MRI measurements, T1 mapping results can be influenced by multiple scanner dep...
